The Whalehead Club is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday year round. The Standard Tour (self guided audio) is available anytime during business hours. For holiday schedules including off-season Specialty Tour Reservations please call (252)453-9040 ext. 2. 
Standard Tour: This self-guided audio tour covers the first two floors where the Knight family lived and an exhibition gallery in the basement. Admission is $7 per person. Children aged 8 and younger are admitted free for this tour when accompanied by a paying adult. No reservations needed.
Family Scavenger Hunt: All ages. Cost is $5.00 per family. Pick up your clues from the Reception Desk at the Whalehead Club. No reservations needed.
Specialty Tours
The following Specialty Tours are currently available Monday through Friday with 24-hour advance reservation requested.
Guided Standard Tour: 2:00 pm This tour provides the same information as the Standard Audio Tour but affords the opportunity to ask questions, and discuss areas of interest with a knowledgeable guide. Recommended for ages 12 and older. Admission is $15 per person. Groups of 15 or more $10 per person.
Maritime Heritage - The Boathouse Tour: 11:00 am This unique tour explores the hunting & maritime heritage of the Currituck Outer Banks. Begins at the residence and continues into the boathouse. Recommended for ages 12 and older. Admission is $8.00 per person. Groups of 15 or more at $5.00 per person.
Behind the Scenes - Then & Now: 3:00 pm Discover the lives of the many servants employed by the Knights here at the Whalehead Club during the 1920s and 30s. This tour takes you through the main floor, 2nd & 3rd floors, attic and ends at the Exhibition Gallery in the 6000sf basement. Recommended for ages 12 and older. Admission is $8.00 per person. Groups of 15 or more at $5.00 per person.
Buck's Restoration Tour: Wednesdays at 2:00 pm Hear first-hand about the multi-million dollar restoration of the historic Whalehead Club. Buck served as Chairman of the Whalehead Preservation Trust during this critical time and shares photos and stories of how it was accomplished. Recommended for ages 12 and older. Admission is $8.00 per person. Groups of 15 or more at $5.00 per person.
Nuts and Bolts Tour: 2:30 pm This tour is for those with an interest in learning about the mechanical construction of a 1920s architectural treasure, as well as what it takes to maintain the Whalehead Club today. Recommended for ages 12 and older. Admission is $8.00 per person. Groups of 15 or more at $5.00 per person.
Daylight Ghost Tour: 4:00 pm Ghosts, Pirates, & Shipwrecks! This popular tour encompasses legend and lore of the Outer Banks with a focus on Corolla Village and the Whalehead Club. Recommended for ages 6 and older. Admission is $8.00 per person. Groups of 15 or more at $5.00 per person.
Moonlight Legends Lore & Ghost Tour: In-Season (May through October): Thursday evenings at dusk. Off-Season (November through March): 1st Saturday of each month at dusk. Similar to the Legends Lore & Ghost Tour offered during the day, but with a few extra twists! Participants are asked to bring a flashlight. **This tour is by advanced reservation only! Recommended for ages 8 and older. Admission is $15.00 per person. Children aged 8 and younger are $8.00.
SAVE $$ With a Combo Tour! - Standard Audio Tour in combination with a Behind the Scenes, Maritime Heritage Tour, Daylight Ghost Tour, Buck's Restoration, or a Nuts & Bolts Tour on the same day -$12 per person. Already taken the audio tour? Combine 2 of these specialty tours for only $15.00 per person!
For the Kids!
The following Specialty Tours are currently available Monday through Friday with 24-hour advance reservation requested. Parents wishing to accompany their children on these tours will be expected to purchase a ticket.
Legend of the Kissing Swans: A Children's Art Time: 9:00 am Ages 5-7. Admission is $5.00 per person. Learn about Art Nouveau and how it ties in with the Whalehead Club and Currituck Heritage. Kids will create a work of art to take home. (Parents please note that craft paint is used of these projects.)
Discovery Quest : 9:00 & 10:00 am Ages 8-14. Admission is $7.00 per person. Kids tour the house with a guide and are given the task of finding items and clues from inside the house to complete the fun and educational Quest!
