Collections & Acquisitions
The Whalehead Preservation Trust accepts items that support the historical and educational mission of the Whalehead Club. This includes original or replicated furniture, accessories, lighting fixtures, hardware, etc. that represent the lifestyle of Mr. & Mrs. Edward Collings Knight, Jr., during their residence at Corolla Island from 1925 - 1936.
Photographs, written documentation, and other memorabilia representing the diverse history of Corolla Island and the Whalehead Club, including its use by the U.S. Coast Guard, Ray T. Adams, Corolla Academy, Atlantic Research or other phases of the site’s history, will gladly be considered for acceptance. Appropriate artifacts pertaining to local wildlife and the rich hunting tradition associated with Currituck Sound are also greatly appreciated and will be considered.
